Three recent product photography shoots
This month I have been kept busy with three product photography shoots for businesses in Cornwall. The first was Bloom Remedies, a company which sells organic skincare products based in Penzance. They have only been going 18 months and have been selling mostly from their website, as well as farmers markets around Cornwall. Having updated their packaging and branding they asked me to reshoot their entire range, as well as create some “lifestyle” imagery for the front page of the website. The brief was to provide “vintage” style photos using a wood background to complement the look of the new site. I whitewashed some planks I had procured for just such a use and did some test shots with these and some other backgrounds I had. I love working with old bits of wood and everyone was very pleased with the results. Given that their old website was already attracting customers from all over the world, I’m hoping that the new one will give them a platform to expand further. Check it out for yourself: bloomremedies.co.uk.
My next product photography shoot was for Tregothnan tea. Tregothnan is a stately pile near Truro in Cornwall and is home to Britain’s only tea plantation. The client is selling through amazon.co.uk, and I was asked to shoot all 50-odd products in their range and cut them out so they were on a plain white background. Happily I was given some products to sample after the shoot and I can testify that their tea is amazing and the housekeepers biscuits sublime! tregothnan.co.uk
Finally I was commissioned to shoot some products for surfgirlbeachboutique.co.uk and Carve magazine. Again I procured some wood for the backgrounds for the shoot, which included some handmade journals which feature some photographs I took in Costa Rica for Surfgirl in 2012. surfgirlbeachboutique.com
